July 4th Celebration!

Celebrating the 4th of July here in Washington D.C. was definately an adventure! Once we survived the packed metro ride to downtown D.C. we stepped outside to find out that it was pouring rain! In JULY! For a girl born and raised in the desert state of Utah, rain on the 4th of July is just crazy! Despite the rain, we found the perfect place to sit on grass looking out towards the Washington Monument. The firework display was amazing and the finale was by far the best I've ever seen!!! Talk about a memorable night!

Life in Washington D.C.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I have been out in DC for several weeks now and I can't begin to tell you how beautiful it is out here. It is so green! There are parts that remind me so much of Maui. As mentioned before, Travis and I are out here in DC for the summer while he sells alarms for Apex. He is working so hard, I am so proud of him! As for me, I don't really do much, everytime someone asks me what I do while I'm out here I'm a little embarrassed to admit NOTHING! I've always had a job since I was 15 years old so this is a completely different experience for me. But Travis wanted me to just relax for once and enjoy myself so thats exactly what I'm doing. In between laying out and reading lots of good books, I am learning how to improve my previously non-existent cooking skills. I know Travis is definately appreciating that. I'm so glad that my friend Jamie is out here with her husband because we keep eachother company. Our friend Beth was out here for the past month and just barely left, We MISS YOU BETH! But things are good, we miss everyone at home!! I especially miss Ethan and Ava!!! AND LEXI! We love you all and hope everyone is doing well! We will keep you posted on our extremely exciting life! Ha.

Also, all of our wedding photography was done by Jakelle Poulson, if anyone would like her number just let me know! She did a wonderful job! Thanks again to everyone who came to show their love and support!!!

Thompsons Wedding Day: Salt Lake Temple

We were married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on February 1st 2008. It was an amazing experience and we are so blessed to have so much support! Thank you so much to all of you who were there with us throughout this day! We love you so much!

Wedding Dinner at the Joesph Smith Memorial Building

I just realized I still haven't posted any pictures from our wedding day or the wedding dinner. We had our wedding dinner the night before we got married at the Joesph Smith Memorial Building. It was so fun to be able to get together with all of our family, friends, and loved ones and just enjoy ourselves! Our parents each spoke along with some of our family and friends. Here our some pictures from the nights events!

El Salvador... Washington D.C... Graduating... Leaving the kids...

Wow, I can't believe its been over a month since our last post. We have had so much going on that the past month just flew by! The past week we went to El Salvador which is where Travis served his mission. We went with his mission companion who is one of his best friends, Dallas, and his wife Lizzie and had such a blast with them! It was definately different from the states but it made us so grateful for how blessed we are. We had such an amazing experience seeing people that Travis taught, baptized, and loved during those two years. One of the highlights of the trip was visiting the pediatrics ward of the local hospital and giving out dolls and toys to some of the kids. It was incredible. We also got to spend some time on the beach and relax. I will post a slideshow of pics... we took so many! We got home yesterday morning and Travis left at 7 AM this morning for Washington D.C. He is out there for the summer selling alarms for Apex. I'll be meeting him out there in about a month, and even though he just left this morning I already miss him like crazy! We will be out there through the month of August, we are excited that our friends Jamie and Mark will be out there with us too! As exciting as living somewhere else is, its also really really sad for me because it means I have to quit my job. I have been a nanny for Ethan and Ava for the past four years and I love them to pieces! They are such a huge part of my life and I am going to miss them so much!!! I just graduated from UVSC and so once we get back to Utah I will be looking for a "real job"... I love those two so much that being with them seems like anything but a job!! It seems like this month is so full of changes, but thats just a part of life I guess. As hard as some of these changes may be, Travis and I are excited to see what the future holds!!!

Life Gets So Busy!

We haven't updated our blog for over a month now. We always thought that once we got married things would slow down- but they have only gotten more busy!! Travis has decided not to get another job and to just keep working for his dad, his schedule is so flexible and he gets to work with his dad. Who can beat that? Sadi will be graduating the end of this month- but has so much left to do that it seems completely impossible. Its crazy! We picked the busiest semester of our lives to get married... oh well! We are so excited for summer... we can't wait to go boating and four-wheeling and all that good stuff! Plus we are leaving for El Salvador in LESS THAN one month!!!! HOORAY FOR SUMMERTIME!!!
