Taiya 3 months old

Our happy, giggly, little girl is growing so quickly! She turned 3 months old on November 1st. We are having so much fun... her little personality is definately coming out. She is so silly and adorable and knows exactly what she wants...

She loves sucking her thumb despite the fact that we do everything we can to get her not to! She knows she is not suppose to suck on her thumb but when we tell her "no no no" she just grins and puts it in her mouth or she puts her little lovey across her hand and sucks her thumb under it hoping that we won't notice.

She also loves her little "lovey," and in order to fall asleep she pulls it across her whole face. We have to go in and move it off her face but she usually pulls it right back or else it ends up on top of her head (see the pic below).

It's amazing how strong Taiya is, she can stand up and balance while only holding on with one hand. She can also sit up for few seconds before tumbling over.

Everything  goes in her mouth... toys, blankets, and whatever is within her reach. She also loves blowing bubbles with her spit... yum I know!

She is still getting chubbier by the day, since both Travis and I were such chubby babies so she really doesn't have much hope. She is now wearing some 3-6 month clothing but also some 6-9 month clothing. I can't wait to see how big she is at her next doctor appointment on December 1st.

She is sleeping through the night some nights and some nights not. Usually she goes to bed about 10:00 pm and wakes up about 6:00 am. A couple nights ago she decided to wake up at 1:00 am and she stayed up and played with her daddy until he woke me up at 3:30 am to feed her.

Travis is adorable with her, I have to say that he is the one of the best dad's in the world. He is obsessed with her, he loves her so much and it is so evident watching him interact with her. Taiya is so loved. Sometimes I can't believe that I am a mom. But I count my blessings because I am loving every minute of it, literally. It can be exhausting at times but the second those little blue eyes look up at me I just melt. I cannot get enough of kissing, cuddling, and playing with this little girl.

12 weeks old

This is how we found Taiya in the morning...

Taiya loves her Uncle Brenan

This is Taiya's first rattle and just like everything else she tries to fit it in her mouth.

I got home from the gym to find these two sound asleep...

I love this little chubster

Look at that cute little belly

Taiya and Travis have lots of the same "looks"... this is the one I get from both of them when I take too many pictures... "Annoyed."

I love her little shoes.. they have little birds on them that match her onsie! Girl clothes are so fun!

Cuddling with her "lovey"

Little thumb sucker!

She stands up so well!

I just love those chubby little cheeks!

I love these two so much!

Trav put together Taiya's jumping saucer for her and she loves it! This is her first day in it, she can barely touch the jumping platform on her tippy toes but she sure loves all the fun toys!

Trav and I at the Bingham vs. Alta football game at Rice Eccles Stadium this last Friday. We had lots of fun especially since Bingham won! Next week, same place same time... Bingham vs. Davis for the state championship!!

Halloween Fun

Here are some scenes from all the fun Halloween stuff we got to enjoy together as a little family...

Travis's mom threw the cutest Halloween party/Going away party for Trav's brother Tyler who is going to Peru to teach English for the next 5 months...

Trav checking out all the yummy food

I loved this dip- so cute!

Lex was so obsessed with the bubbling rootbeer!

Trav and I enjoying the party

Taiya is sure going to miss her Uncle Ty

After the party we headed over to my Aunt Susie's house for pumpkin carving with all my cousins...

Taiya was not a fan of the pumpkin goo at first

The more she stuck her hand in the more she liked it... well maybe not "liked" it but she at least tolerated it long enough for a couple more pictures

I absolutely love carving pumpkins and I was so excited to help Taiya carve her first pumpkin!

Grandpa and Taiya

Our first time carving pumpkins as a family of three

Uncle Brenan with his girlfriend Maddi and of course Taiya

So here is my beautiful work of art (I'm talking about the pumpkin)... ha... obviously I am so NOT artistic but it was fun anyways. Here is daddy and his little pumpkin...

Taiya was a little flower fairy for Halloween this year... we had so much fun with her. She was such a good little sport with wearing her costume and letting me and both her grandmas' take a zillion pictures! I apologize that I am posting a lot (yes, even more than usual) pics of Taiya in her costume but really, its her first Halloween. I can't help it.

First time trick-or-treating

Trick-or-Treating was exhausting... this is her first "treat" ever (which of course she doesn't get to enjoy)

Taiya's Firsts and Saying Goodbye to Hawaii

Taiya has changed so much during the past month while we were in Hawaii, she had lots of "firsts" and has become such a happy, smiley, giggly little girl. We cannot get enough of all of her smiles, she brings so much light and joy into our lives! I just want to make sure I remember some of the little milestones that have happened while we were away. Also, here are the rest of our pictures from Hawaii. Enjoy!

Taiya is constantly smiling and giggling now. She especially loves patty-cake and when her daddy stands her up so she can dance.

These two pictures make me laugh so hard... let me explain. So it was later at night while we were in Hawaii and everyone but me, Trav, and Danny were asleep. I was on the computer not really paying attention to what they were doing, but I heard the Shakira "She Wolf" song being restarted a couple times and I glanced up and this is what I saw. Trav and Danny were right in front of the tv watching Shakira and trying to do all the moves that she was doing while singing her song. It was hilarious!!! I think they kept at it trying to "perfect" their moves for over an hour. And of course I had to snap a couple of pictures..... I love my husband so much... never a dull moment with him around... HA.

Silly boys

Taiya and I stopped at Ko Olina to check out the man made lagoons. It was gorgeous and we had a great time dipping our toes in the water and exploring the resorts. Taiya has a silly look on her face cause she is trying not to fall over while I tried to balance her with one hand while I held the camera in my other hand.

View of one of the lagoons

Taiya started wearing Size 2 diapers at 10 weeks old and she is also wearing 3-6 month old clothing... ALREADY... what a little chunk!!

Taiya sporting the cute dress that Grandma Pennie bought her during her trip to Cali

Taiya has now started playing with toys! This is her first toy and she LOVES batting at it. She also loves to grab the middle one and try to get it into her mouth.

We were out shopping and came across this fun hat store... Taiya had to have a turn trying on a few hats too... she totally has a "what the heck are you doing to me" look.

We had the cutest little girls that were our neighbors, they loved to come over to say hi and play with Taiya. This is Emma, Ella, and Eden (I hope their mom doesn't mind that I put their pics on here) but we had so much fun with them, they were so funny and kept us laughing with their silly dances and songs.

Another pic of the sleeping little girl

I had such a great time exploring Ko Olina that I got everyone to come back the next morning so we could really enjoy all the the resorts had to offer. This was the morning before we left to come home. Here are a couple pictures of the gorgeous swimming pools...

It felt so nice to swim in fresh water!

This is Taiya's first time swimming (not counting dipping her toes in the ocean)

Having fun in the sun

Taiya loved the water and swimming with her daddy

Even more Hawaii pictures

Here are some more pictures from what we have been up to...

Taiya loves the sand

I was in the shower one night and I walked out to find this (they were watching tv)... I laughed so hard... Ha.
Like father, like daughter.

Hanging out on Waikiki

We were walking under lots of tiki torches that were lit and Taiya had this adorable look of total amazement on her face

As close to surfing as we got on this trip

People looked at us like we were crazy whenever us girls went anywhere with all the kids, we were a train of strollers. This night we were walking around in Waikiki while we waited for the guys to finish working and meet up with us so we could go out to dinner. These are the cute kids of Lisa & Ben- Audrey (left), Taiya (middle), and Brittney & Todd- Gaige (right).

Out to dinner at our favorite place

Dinner on the beach at Duke's.

Taiya's eyelashes have gotten so long!

Sleepy little girl. It is so hot that during the day when we are at home she just wears a diaper. The only reason she has a blanket on is because it makes her feel cozy, she cannot sleep without one.

Visiting Pearl Harbor at the USS Arizona Memorial

I sure love this little girl.

Trav sure loves his little girl. This is on the ferry over to the memorial.

She has to have something to cuddle with when she sleeps.

More Hawaii pictures

We are still here in Hawaii and having an incredible time. We miss everyone at home but we will see you soon!

Beach baby

We went to visit the Dole Pineapple Plantation, which was not that exciting, but we still made the most of it and had fun! It's more of a place to go with little kids... like 2-6 year olds but our friends had a two year old and so it ended up being perfect for him cause he loved the train!

Visiting the Pineapple Plantation

Ummmm... being dumb

Enjoying our pineapple whip (aka pineapple ice cream)

We drove along the north shore and stopped at a few places to eat and at Sunset beach to play...

We stopped and got shrimp from the famous shrimp truck Giovanni's. People write their names all over the truck to show that they were there.

The waves at Sunset Beach were crazy!!! This picture totally doesn't do them justice, they were huge.

Hanging out on the beach

Enjoying the sunset together

Audrey and Taiya have gotten to be good buds. We both laughed when we walked out of our rooms that morning and the girls were in matching outfits, just different colors. Ha. Can you believe that Audrey is 3 months OLDER than Taiya???

Trav playing in the waves... this is the littlest by far the waves were the whole time out there. A lifeguard actually came up to the guys and told them that they didn't have "the right equipment" to be out there because the waves and the current were so strong.

Our little family

Sunset from the back of our house

There is a restaurant right on Waikiki Beach called Duke's that we absolutely love! We have been there several times! Here is a picture from the beach looking up towards Duke's.

Aloha.... from Oahu!

I mentioned in an earlier post that we are currently out of state... well we are actually in Hawaii right now. Trav had the opportunity to come out here to work for a few weeks and Taiya and I got to tag along. We are staying on Oahu and LOVING the sunshine, the beach, and being able to be with Trav. Little Taiya has been such a champ with adjusting to all the changes, she has become quite the little beach bum. She loves feeling the sand between her toes and dangling her chubby little legs in the waves. Trav has been working so hard, I am so proud of him! Thanks love for working so hard so I can be a stay at home mom. I feel so blessed right now to have such a wonderful husband and sweet little girl AND to be here in beautiful Hawaii. Here are some pictures from the beginning of our stay out here...

Taiya's first airplane ride... waiting in the airport before the flight. We flew from SLC to Portland and from Portland to Oahu. Taiya slept through most of both flights!

This is the beach house we are staying in while we are here. This is the view from the back. It sits right on the ocean... if you jump over those green bushes you are literally in the ocean!

This is the view from sitting in the living room looking out the back...

This is Taiya's first time going to the beach. After coating her in sunscreen I put her in the sling carrier and off we went...

She loved the beach so much that she was just exhausted after.

Before we left for Hawaii I bought this cool little tent to use with Taiya at the beach. It seriously has been one of the best purchases ever. I use it every day for her to nap in cause its so hot here (and we have NO AIR CONDITIONING which apparently is totally normal for houses over here) and so I have her sleep in here either outside or right inside by all the screen doors so she can get some air flow to help keep her cool. This is a picture of our daily routine (well at least on days when Taiya wants to cooperate and take an nap)... Taiya takes a nap and I get to lay out and enjoy the sunshine!

Those of you that have been to Hawaii before have probably had a world famous snow cone from Matsumoto's...

One of our first adventures was to head to Matsumoto's for a snow. Here is Danny, Trav, and Ice getting ready to order.

Enjoying our snow cones. And yes they were totally worth it... world famously yummy!

Then we headed over to Waimea to get some beach time in. Here is Trav dipping Taiya's toes in the water to cool her off!

Hanging out on the beach

Trav, Ice, and Danny at Waimea

Taiya loves the feeling of the sand on her toes. No matter how many times I put her little foot back in the tent she would wiggle and kick until she could get it back out so she could touch the sand. Now we just know if we want a happy baby we better make sure she can feel the sand with at least one foot!

The boys playing in the water

Me & little missy... notice she is not looking at the camera EVER this day, it was so bright outside!

Gorgeous view from the beach

It is so different going places and doing things with a baby, not that I would change it for the world, but it definately makes doing things "together" much more challenging. Trav and I took turns sitting on the beach with Taiya and swimming. But Danny was so sweet to offer to watch Taiya for us so we could go swimming together for a bit... it was great... thanks Danny!

We also went to this way cute ice cream place that has homeade ice cream and waffle cones... and yes it was delicious!!!

Taiya 6 to 8 weeks old...

I am almost caught up with my blogging! I am so proud of myself. Ha. Since I am kinda using this like my journal I don't want to forget anything. Here are some cute little moments...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
It's definately not summer anymore, this is Taiya's first time wearing any of her fall clothes... and it is a size 3-6 months... she wasn't even 2 months old yet!! Little chubby baby!

Snuggling with Grandma Pennie

Grandpa Todd & Taiya... both of them just passed out

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
I don't get to see my friend Charidee very often since she is living in Vegas right now, but she was up here to bless her little girl Mckinlee a few weekends ago, and it was so good to see them! Taiya is 3 weeks older than Mckinlee... Taiya was just loving the camera can't you tell?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
We set Mckinlee and Taiya down to compare their sizes and they just grabbed each others hands and just held on. We thought it was so cute!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Taiya had her 2 month old check up and she had to get shots this time. I don't know who it hurt more... her getting them or me watching her get so upset :( This is a pic of her "owwies"... she had 2 shots in one leg and 1 shot in the other leg. At her appointment Taiya weighed 11 lbs 14 oz. and was 75 percentile for both weight and height and 50 percentile for head.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
I had to check something on the computer really quickly so I sat Taiya on my lap, one minute she was wide awake and the next she was out. I loved how her little chubby belly was totally sticking out!
